This 2-year undergraduate program aims at training technicians who are;

  • well-equipped in his/her field,
  • knowledgeable about manufacturing, design and material selection techniques,
  • able to apply his/her knowledge to the industrial systems and equipments.

In addition to the above mentioned courses, the program also offers courses with social content. The curriculum of the program is composed of theoretical and applied courses as well as summer trainings.

The mission of the program of electrics is to;

  • Pursue and analyze the requirements of the present time in order to train the staff sector seeks for.
  • Train technicians who have sufficient knowledge in their field and know the issues such as manufacturing technicians, design techniques, choice of materials and use their information in industrial plants and equipment.

The graduates of the program are awarded with the title of "Electrical Technician". Our graduates have working facilities in almost every area of large, middle and small-sized enterprises and they can be responsible for the technical staff of the company and therefore undertake role of leadership and management.

Child Development Program offers a two-year program for the graduates of girls’ vocational high schools, multi-programmed high schools, child development and education program of vocational open high schools who can enroll to the program without taking the university entrance exam. The graduates are awarded with an associate diploma.


Child Development Program aims at educating students as technical staff who;

  • adopt the importance of child development and education,
  • know development phases of the children aged between 0-18,
  • are knowledgeable about habits and requirements of the children aged between 0-18,
  • can take necessary precautions to solve their problems,
  • know the children with special needs and can arrange suitable learning environment for those children,
  • are conscious about mother health,
  • knowledgeable about the symptoms, protection ways and caring of the illnesses which are common among the children aged between 0-18,
  • obtain basic knowledge and skills on first aid practices,
  • can prepare and apply programmes at pre-school level,
  • can design toys for instructional purposes which are compatible with the children’s development levels and the new technologies,
    are able to overhaul the equipment s/he utilizes,
  • can prepare the menu and food according to food safety regulations,
  • solve the problems encountered both in the workplace and its environment by making use of his/her professional and technical abilities,

The graduates from this 2-year program can also enroll at 4-year graduate programs by taking a transfer exam.


General Information

Computer Technology and Programming comprises computer usage, software programming for PC, network and internet, hardware maintenance, network installation and network administration.

A computer technician is a specialist who is knowledgeable about the fields mentioned above and is educated to specialize in one of them.

The education given to the technician will teach him/her how to arrange the work environment in a suitable way and have good relations with others. The technician has to have a high application skill level and know modern trends in advanced information technologies.

According to the information mentioned above, the role of technician in computer industry:

Common features of the technicians are;

  • error detection,
  • problem solving,
  • decision-making,
  • planning procedures and functions.

The technician is responsible to the management for the efficiency of the work. The technician can also supervise the works of the software technicians appointed to certain tasks. The technician;

  • Knows basic terms in the field of computer,
  • Works on software planning and design,
  • Carries out non-supervisory duties in the team during the programming processes in the software sector,
  • Undertakes the tasks of software installation, testing and approval,
  • Undertakes the responsibilities related to data security and storage,
  • Installs and uses Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Database, Graphical software and by using software development modules of these programs, s/he makes new programs,
  • Detects the failures related to software and simple hardware and finds solutions to that failures that do not require expertise,
  • Uses the PC and network operation systems which are still in use in the sector and can access to the information that s/he needs via internet,
  • Takes part in hardware detection tasks,
  • Selects and installs the materials and equipment the systems necessitate,
  • Knows where and how to apply the regulations, based on law, related to computer resources, health and safety,
  • Knows the basic concepts in human relations and entrepreneurship, and transforms these concepts into principles and ethical rules while providing service,
  • Acquires an analytical thinking ability,
  • Acquires the habit of making constructive criticism in the proper time and place and also acquires the habit of appreciating criticism towards him/her,
  • Takes part in the computer sector as a qualified semi-skilled workforce,
  • Applies the techniques, the details of which are underlined in standards and regulations,
  • Contributes to national economy by using his/her knowledge and skills in the field.

Workshop/Laboratory Equipment

Since informatics mostly requires practice, our laboratories offer each student a separate computer to use during the practice courses. 111, 206, 307 classrooms are designed for practice courses. Besides, the study and internet rooms serve for the students for extra-curricular studies. Most of the theoretical courses are given in the large classes equipped with projectors.

In today’s construction systems, reinforced concrete structures are common. If we want our buildings to be undamaged or less damaged after an earthquake, we should not only know the rules for the construction but also know the rules related to concrete production and apply them to our structures.

Because of the above mentioned reasons, in 2007-2008 Academic Year, cide University Vocational School of Higher Education re-launched the program of Ready Mixed Concrete Technology which aims at promoting the common use of high-quality standardized concrete.

The aim of the Program, which is the first and only program in the field, is to train technicians who are well-equipped and knowledgeable about laboratory and worksite practices, and to whom over 500 ready mixed concrete stations need.


Universities have to take the requirements and realities of the country into consideration and anticipate the improving and changing conditions and form its educational activities accordingly.

In our country, 21% of the population lives in 1st degree earthquake zone and 31% of the population lives in 2nd degree earthquake zone. 98% of Large-Scale Industrial Centers and 93% of the dams are in earthquake zone. However, our society is not sensitive and interested enough in building production and residential planning which will lessen the damage an earthquake could cause. Because of this, the society suffers a lot from the earthquakes in terms of human life and property as in the case of 17 August earthquake disaster.

It is strength, economy, functionality and aesthetics that are required from a building. The quality of the building depends on safe ground, perfect project, high quality material and proper application steps. Therefore, as the expression states “A bad construction, not an earthquake, kills,”.

If the university candidates, who want to have an education in a technical program, select this program, they will both be trained as a highly-preferred professional staff and be an employee in a field that is not common in the country yet.

Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association, Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association, Concrete Admixtures Manufacturers’ Association provide practice and employment opportunities.

1 Assist. Prof. Dr. and 3 Instructors currently teach in the program on the regular basis. The personnel and the academic staff do their best to provide the students with a good education. The school has concrete laboratory with advanced equipment for the use of the students. In this program, the students are provided with both experimental knowledge they can encounter during application and theoretical and practical information.

Our students are encouraged to participate in such activities as conferences, symposiums and technical and social trips.


The objective of the program is to train technicians of ready mixed concrete who;

  • Can contribute technically to the ready mixed concrete productions which have been on the increase in our country.-,
  • Can make the calculations of concrete mixtures,
  • Have a good knowledge of concrete and its contents and direct concrete production accordingly,
  • Are able to understand and comment on the projects,
  • Can carry out any type of experiments on concrete in the concrete and material laboratories.


After taking transfer exams by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) , the students of the 2-year ready mixed concrete technology program can attend 4-year programs of the following departments;

  • Civil engineering
  • Construction Teaching
  • Design and Construction Teaching


The graduates of the program are awarded with the title of “Ready Mixed Concrete Technician”. The graduates can be employed in ready mixed concrete companies, concrete and material laboratories and in state and building materials manufacturing departments of state and private enterprises.
